A public meeting on a proposed bridge replacement and road alignment on Ga. 52 in Lula is set for Dec. 2 at Lula Elementary School.

Georgia Department of Transportation engineers will be available 5-7 p.m. in the school cafeteria to discuss the project. The school is at 6130 Chattahoochee St.

There will be no formal presentation.

"Along with replacing the bridge, we plan to straighten out some curves and flatten the road around the bridge," which crosses the Chattahoochee River, said DOT district engineer Russell McMurry.

The project will focus on about one mile of Ga. 52 at the bridge.

Anyone unable to attend the meeting may send comments to Glenn Bowman, Georgia DOT, 3993 Aviation Circle, Atlanta, GA, 30336. All comments will be considered in the development of the final project design and must be received by Dec. 16.
