The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is looking into the death of a 66-year-old inmate at the Hall County Jail. The inmate, Julius Thomas Wilkins, collapsed in a shower Thursday morning and did not respond to resuscitation efforts, said Sgt. Kiley Sargent of the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. The GBI inquiry is routine for all deaths in county custody.Wilkins had been in the jail since April 28 on an arrest order by the state court for a DUI. Wilkins had an existing medical condition when he came to the jail, Sargent said.“At this point everything points to a natural cause,” GBI spokesman John Bankhead said.State medical examiners will likely perform an autopsy today, he said.
