Park Cannon, D-Atlanta, will speak at Brenau University at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Cannon is one of four LGBT representatives in the General Assembly. She will talk about voting rights and women.

The program will be in Disque, 429 Academy St. The Black Student Association will host the event.

Cannon took office in February. She succeeded Simone Bell in the 58th District.

She has a degree in Hispanic linguistics and linguistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
