Gainesville woman dies after being hit by car

A pedestrian died on Thursday after being hit by a vehicle, according to the Georgia State Patrol. The crash occurred around 5:45 p.m. on Old Cornelia Highway, 0.2 mile east of Georgia 52, said Gordy Wright, GSP public information officer. Myrna Joyce Morris, 69, of Gainesville was attempting to cross the highway when she stepped into the path of a westbound 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt being driven by Brandon Masters, 25, of Gainesville.
