Gainesville to pilot DJJ transition program

Commissioner Avery D. Niles announced on Friday two Department of Juvenile Justice educational and workforce initiatives, one of which will be piloted at the Gainesville Regional Youth Detention Center. Transition to Success “is a collaborative transition program between the Adult Education Program of the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice school system and Georgia Mountains Regional Workforce Development.” “The goal of the ‘Transition to Success’ program is to provide GED preparation and testing opportunities,” said Audrey Armistad, DJJ associate school superintendent.
