A store clerk at AMAL Convenience Store was arrested Wednesday after authorities said they found roughly 2« pounds of suspected synthetic marijuana in her possession.
Gainesville police and Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad agents entered the Athens Street convenience store, where Ubah M Ali Carswell, 29, of Gainesville “attempted to destroy a quantity of synthetic marijuana which she had in her possession,” Lt. Scott Ware said in a news release.
Officers found another 1,142 grams of suspected synthetic marijuana in her SUV and behind the counter, along with 5 grams of crack cocaine and an ounce of marijuana.
The drugs carry an estimated street value of $46,000.
Carswell faces charges of possession with the intent to distribute synthetic marijuana, marijuana and cocaine.
