Gainesville schools will take week off in February next school year

Gainesville City Schools will have a one-week winter break in February of the 2017-18 school year.

The addition to the schedule was accepted at Monday’s school board meeting, and that break will run from Feb. 19-23, 2018.

Spring break will run from April 2-6, 2018.

School will start Aug. 2, 2017, with fall break Oct. 6-10, 2017, and Thanksgiving break Nov. 20-24, 2017. The first semester will wrap up Dec. 15, 2017, with students returning to school Jan. 3, 2018.

The last day of school and Gainesville High School’s graduation will be held May 25, 2018.
