The Gainesville Board of Education will conduct a public hearing June 9 on a proposed $64 million budget for the 2016 fiscal year, which begins July 1. The preliminary projections were released Wednesday, and officials have set a June 15 date to tentatively adopt a budget, and a June 29 meeting to formally approve it. The proposed general fund spending plan includes about $1.25 million for the addition of new personnel, including two bus drivers, one bus monitor, 14 teachers, two speech and language pathologists, two special education teachers and one technician.
