Missing man found 'safe and sound'

A man who went missing Wednesday morning was discovered overnight in Baldwin.

According to Gainesville police spokeswoman Cpl. Jessica Van, 76-year-old Robert Stokes was found "safe and sound."

Stokes reportedly suffers from dementia and disappeared around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, in the area of Blueridge Drive in Gainesville. He was in a cream-colored 2005 Ford Expedition and thought to be headed to Watkinsville in Oconee County. Baldwin is northeast of Gainesville near Cornelia.
