A man allegedly impersonated a federal agent and patted down a woman at a McEver Road apartment complex May 23. The suspect is believed to be a white man who stands 6 feet tall with a skinny build. He has brown hair and brown eyes. The suspect was seen wearing a gray T-shirt, black athletic shorts, a black or blue ball cap and gray-and-black Nike shoes.

A man pretended to be a federal agent and patted down a woman on May 23, Gainesville police said.

Police are looking for help identifying the man who approached a woman at a McEver Road apartment complex around 11:30 p.m. May 23.

“The male subject presented a gold badge to the female and claimed to be a federal agent, then requested to pat her down,” according to a news release.

The man then allegedly began to touch the woman inappropriately, and she escaped.

The suspect is believed to be a white man who stands 6 feet tall with a skinny build. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

The suspect was seen wearing a gray T-shirt, black athletic shorts, a black or blue ball cap and gray-and-black Nike shoes.
