A Gainesville Police officer who suffered minor injuries in a Sunday morning single-vehicle wreck is out of the hospital and recovering.

Officer Jason Hogan was driving his patrol car west on Jesse Jewell Parkway/Ga. 369 when he crashed into a utility pole just west of Race Street, according to authorities.

“For unknown reasons, (the vehicle) traveled from the right lane onto the median,” hitting the pole with its right front bumper, Jonathan Munger of the Georgia State Patrol said Sunday.

The vehicle then rotated counterclockwise, ending up in Ga. 369's eastbound lanes, Munger said.

Hogan was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. He was released later that day, according to police.

The incident is under investigation.
