The Gainesville Parks and Recreation Department has earned reaccreditation through the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies and the National Recreation and Park Association. It is the only national accreditation for park and recreation agencies and measures overall quality of operation, management and service to the community. This is the fourth time Gainesville has earned the honor since 2000 under the leadership of Accreditation Manager Brenda Martin.
