A Gainesville man was charged with trafficking methamphetamine following a four-month investigation in Georgia and South Carolina.
Bonifacio Ramirez, 31, was charged after authorities say meth and firearms were found at a Cornelia home.
“This multi-jurisdiction investigation has disrupted a methamphetamine trafficking organization responsible for distributing approximately 60 kilograms of methamphetamine in Georgia and South Carolina over the past two years,” Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office Special Agent in Charge Mitchell Posey said in a news release.
On Friday, law enforcement agencies began executing search warrants on homes in Toccoa, Cornelia and Milledgeville.
At a Head Drive home in Toccoa, officers found 13 ounces of methamphetamine along with money and firearms. Christian Lee Hilland, 28, and Samantha Nicole Nagy, 29, both of Toccoa, were charged with trafficking methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, according to the news release.
Agents charged Ramirez after searching a Red Fox Hollow Drive home in Cornelia, which they said also had methamphetamine and firearms. Ramirez was also wanted in Hall County on an outstanding warrant for allegedly selling methamphetamine, according to the news release.
Agents seized 11 grams of methamphetamine, money, marijuana and prescription narcotics after searching a third home on Knight Circle in Milledgeville. William Levi Daniel, 26, Brittany Wells Blount, 31, both of Gray, and Lori Louellen Davidson, 48, of Milledgeville, were charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana.
Kerry Allan Davidson, 56, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession and use of drug-related objects, possession of alprazolam and possession of marijuana.
Alprazolam commonly goes by the trade name Xanax.
The investigation moved between Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina, involving more than a dozen agencies.
“Because of the strong, existing relationships between the participating agencies, agents were able to share intelligence and coordinate the dismantling of a complex methamphetamine trafficking network,” Posey said in a news release.
Posey said additional arrests are expected, and the investigation is continuing.
