Jeremy Walter Evans, 30, of Gainesville was arrested by Hall County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Tuesday, June 4 after allegedly striking a female and threatening to burn down her house.

The investigation sparked from a 911 call from the female victim at the 1600 block of Old Athens Road in Gainesville.

Hall County deputies reported that the victim hid from Evans in the home’s bathroom until help arrived.

Evans was arrested on Athens Street at Monroe Drive after the alleged assault.

Once put into custody, deputies said Evans attempted to walk past the arresting deputy, then damaged a patrol car.

“When placed in the patrol car, he repeatedly kicked the patrol car door causing it to bow out from the frame,” the report states.

Evans was booked into Hall County Jail and charged with terroristic threats and acts, obstruction and simple assault.

The case is under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office.
