A Gainesville man is among three people charged with drug trafficking following the discovery of 120 kilograms of cocaine and 380 pounds of methamphetamine at a warehouse in Duluth.

Jose Romero of 15 Mimosa St., along with Epifanio Sandoval of Athens and Luis Pacheco-Vasquez of Forest Park, were taken into custody at the scene, according to a statement released by the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's investigators began building a case in early February based on information they received about the warehouse.

"After countless hours of surveillance on the warehouse and key subjects in the investigation, officials were granted a search warrant of the property," sheriff's spokesman Lt. Sean Smith said in the release.

The sheriff's office and the Georgia State Patrol served the warrant. The cocaine has an estimated street value of $3.6 million, and the methamphetamine is estimated at $7.6 million.

Further details weren't available Tuesday.
