About 30 student members of the Gainesville Junior Homesteaders Club made cheese from a kit Monday at Gainesville Exploration Academy. Most seemed to enjoy the experience more than the final product, but they tasted it anyway with only a few grimaces. The after-school club, formerly known as The Garden Club, meets each Monday and has explored beekeeping and gardening, plans to pick strawberries, revisit beekeeping and gardening and will make pizza dough to go with their mozzarella next week, said club leader and parent volunteer Amanda Castaneda.
