Visitors to the Gainesville City Schools’ central office may be pleasantly surprised by the new lobby. In December, the school board approved $39,845 in SPLOST IV funds for renovations to the front of the office, including taking down gates that separate the small waiting area from the rest of the facility. “It’s just so much more warm and open,” said receptionist Beverly Nordholz.
