The former Hall County Parks & Leisure building on Rainey Street in Gainesville will be demolished under a plan approved Monday at the Gainesville Board of Education meeting.
The Gainesville City Board of Education approved a bid for the demolition and landscaping of a property on Rainey Street at its Monday meeting. The approved bid went to Gainesville-based Simpson Trucking and Grading for $36,500 toward the demolition and removal of the former Hall County Parks and Leisure building, 1086 Rainey St. The cost also covers removal of the parking lot asphalt, and then planting grass on the land. “You’ll see a nice, green grass at some point, that’s what will be on that property,” said project administrator David Shumake.
