Gaines Ferry Road back open after brief closure for fire

A small fire at a gas station has led to the closure of Gaines Ferry Road between McEver Road and Ga. 13 South on Wednesday night as firefighters are on the scene.

0309FIRE — A small fire at a gas station has led to the closure of Gaines Ferry Road between McEver Road and Ga. 13 South on Wednesday night as firefighters are on the scene.

Gaines Ferry Road between McEver Road and Ga. 13 South is back open after a small fire at a gas station caused a brief closure of the road.

The fire occurred in the 6100 block of Gaines Ferry, with light smoke showing from the roof and side of a gas station with four other business attached to it.

Hall County Fire Services Capt. Zachary Brackett said fire was found in one wall and extinguished.

No injuries have been reported.

The cause and origin of the fire aren’t yet known, Brackett said.
