The Jackson EMC Foundation awarded more than $100,000 in grants during its January meeting, including $48,000 to agencies serving Hall and Lumpkin county residents. Challenged Child and Friends, $15,000: Provides education, therapy, nursing and family support to children with disabilities Hall County Health Department, $15,000: To provide indigent women in Banks, Franklin, Hall and Lumpkin counties with medical care during pregnancy MedLink of Georgia, $15,000: To transition the primary medical care network to an electronic practice management and health records system that will allow physicians and staff to better manage patient care. Straight Street Revolution Ministries, $3,000: To purchase food for the BackPack Love program that sends food home each weekend with disadvantaged students in Gainesville and Hall County schools.
