Forsyth woman killed while crossing Ga. 400

A 49-year-old Forsyth County woman was killed on Thursday evening as she was walking across Ga. 400 near Settingdown Circle in north Forsyth County.

According to Cpl. David Garrison of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit, Juanita Cole, 49, of Smith Drive in Cumming, stepped into the path of a 2012 Ford F-150 pickup truck traveling southbound around 7 p.m. on Thursday. She was crossing Ga. 400 on foot, coming from the direction of her home.

Cpl. Garrison said the area is not lighted and Cole was wearing dark clothing. The driver of the pickup truck, Kim Mills, 50, of Dawsonville, and a passenger were not injured.

The incident remains under investigation.
