For years, Charlotte Sosebee’s after-work ritual was a recorded “The Price is Right” on the DVR.
For Friday’s episode, she will have the best view in years.
Sosebee, Hall County’s former elections director, lived out a longtime dream to see the long-running show and audition to be a contestant.
“I guess for about five years I’ve recorded Price is Right on my DVR. That was something that I do every day when I get off work. That was one of my things that I relax with.”
Sosebee couldn’t tell us about the results, saying “you’ll have to watch the show to see if I was selected.”
She said she remembered her grandmother and her brother watching it when she was a kid.
“When I’m playing at home, I always make my bids. Sometimes I’m over. Sometimes I’m not,”
Sosebee left Hall County in November for the director of elections and voter registration position with Athens-Clarke County. She was in California for a work conference and took some vacation days to get priority tickets for the show.
“If I saw the camera, I made sure I was smiling and making sure that my personality stood out,” Sosebee said of the Aug. 22 taping.
