A former Hall County jailer accused on smuggling charges pleaded not guilty Monday at an arraignment in U.S. District Court. Austin Herring, 19, appeared in the Gainesville federal court and entered his not guilty plea with his attorney Graham McKinnon. Herring is accused of smuggling “ruse cocaine” into the Hall County Jail, according to agents with the North Georgia Major Offenders Safe Streets Task Force.
