The 215-acre wildfire near Black and Springer mountains in the Chattahoochee National Forest was 85 percent contained Wednesday, with full containment expected today, according to a news release from the U.S. Forest Service. Trail and road closures may be lifted as soon as Friday, the release said. The approach trail to the Appalachian Trail has been closed due to the fire, with the U.S. Forest Service attempting to help through-hikers with shuttles around dangerous portions of the trail.
