Before turning dirt on the new Flowery Branch City Hall, the South Hall city is planning to get a blessing for the project from an unusual source: itself. The city is scheduled to go before the Flowery Branch Historic Preservation Commission next week to seek a certificate of appropriateness to build the $5 million structure. Such a move is necessary before “any material change in appearance of the designated historic property or any structure, site or work of art located within a designated historic district,” according to the city code.
