A residential fire damaged a mobile home south of Gainesville on Saturday afternoon, leaving its residents in need of shelter. No one was hurt.

Hall County Fire Service crews, aided by the Gainesville Fire Department, responded to the fire around 3 p.m. at the Suburban Mobile Home Park off Highland Terrace. They found a single-wide mobile home about 30 percent involved with fire and heavy smoke showing. They put out the fire quickly, Capt. Zachary Brackett, Hall Fire Services spokesman, said in a news release.

One person who was at home at the time was awakened by the smell of smoke and escaped unharmed. Four adult residents were displaced and relocated by the mobile home park management, with the Red Cross also providing aid.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
