Community meeting on Enota school construction

When: 6:30 p.m. July 13

Where: Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County, 1547 Riverside Drive, Gainesville

Parents, students, teachers, staff and residents of the surrounding community have an opportunity to get updated information and ask questions about the construction of the new Enota Multiple Intelligences Academy building at a meeting Thursday.

The meeting is set for 6:30 p.m. at the Junior League of Gainesville-Hall County, located at 1547 Riverside Drive.

School officials, architects and representatives from Carroll Daniel, the contractor for the project, will be on hand to give an update on the project’s progress and answer questions during the meeting.

Adrian Niles, maintenance and operation directors and capital projects manager for Gainesville City Schools, said the meeting will be the first of several over the next year to help keep those interested in the project informed.

The 63-year-old former school building has been demolished and work has begun on the new $19.3 million school. It is scheduled to be completed by August 2018, in time for the beginning of the 2018-19 school year.

While construction is going on, Enota will share the campus of Centennial Arts Academy for the entire 2017-18 school year.
