The Georgia Mountain Food Bank's annual fundraiser will be held this year at the Ramsey Conference Center at Lanier Technical College.

It will feature soups and salads from Performance Foodservice, a live auction including hand-painted bowls by celebrities like Blackberry Smoke, Drivin’ N’ Cryin’, and Atlanta United, plus the presentation of community awards.

U.S. Rep. Doug Collins is one of those who painted bowls, including adding his handprint to one of the larger bowls up for auction.

"The food bank and the people that help there, it fills a gap," Collins said. "And what I really like is the community coming together and saying that we’re going to take this on ourselves to help those that are in need."

When: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, with presentation beginning at 11:45 a.m.

Where: Lanier Technical College, Ramsey Conference Center, 2535 Lanier Tech Drive, Gainesville

How much: $30 donation suggested, includes small painted bowl as memento
