An East Hall County house fire that occurred May 17 has been ruled as arson and fire officials are seeking help to determine who set it.

The 2:11 p.m. fire was at 3770 Stone Creek Court at the Stone Creek @ the Reservoir subdivision, according to Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle.

The fire marshal's office and insurance company determined the fire was deliberately set.

"I can tell you that there was no power to the house and no other possible ignition source in the room where the fire started," Cagle said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the fire marshal's office at 770-531-6838 or the Georgia Arson Control Board at 1-800-282-5804. The board offers rewards of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of people responsible for fires.

"No matter how small or insignificant they think the information is, it might be the one piece we are looking for," Cagle said.
