Travelers won’t have to worry about construction-related lane closings as they head to their holiday destinations.
The Georgia Department of Transportation announced Tuesday there will be no lane closings on interstates or state routes from noon Dec. 23 to 5 a.m. Dec. 29.
Emergency repairs or other responses may require temporary lane closures, officials said. The DOT requires, as part of its construction contracts, that work must stop on and around holidays.
