A 65-year-old bridge just north of Gillsville in Banks County will be torn down to make way for a new, wider bridge. The Georgia Department of Transportation hired Talley Construction Co. of Rossville to replace the bridge on Ga. 323 and over Grove Creek. The contractor will begin this week installing construction-related traffic signs and orange barrier fencing along the borders of the project, according to the DOT. Replacing the 28-foot bridge will be a 37.25-foot structure.
