Holiday travelers will have one less worry — lane closures — as they head to their Thanksgiving destinations.

The Georgia Department of Transportation announced Thursday there will be no lane closures on interstates or state routes from 5 a.m. Wednesday to midnight Nov. 30.

In its construction contracts, the DOT requires that work must stop on peak travel days during holidays.
