Because of recent rain, concrete slab replacement along the northbound lanes of Interstate 985 has been delayed to Jan. 2, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. DOT contractors had planned to start the work Monday. The work calls for crews to cut out portions of old pavement and replace them with new slabs.
