The death of an Oakwood woman has been ruled a homicide following an autopsy by the DeKalb County medical examiner’s office.

The body of Holly Fox Strickland was found Saturday behind her Oakwood home. The 32-year-old mother had been missing since the night of Feb. 3.

The Hall County Sheriff’s Office declined to give any further details about the autopsy findings, including cause of death, according to spokesman Deputy John Marshall.

The medical examiner’s office deferred to Hall County Coroner Marion Merck, who didn’t have further information.

The sheriff’s office had said on Saturday that no foul play was suspected.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Nicole Bailes said Saturday a family member found the body in a wooded area behind the house in the 5500 block of Raintree Trace.

The sheriff’s office is investigating. Anyone with information regarding the woman’s death is asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 770-531-6879, or anonymously at 770-503-3232.
