DAWSONVILLE — A Dawsonville man was killed early Wednesday morning in a one-vehicle crash at the intersection of Ga. 53 and Hugh Stowers Road in Dawson County.

Patrick "Steven" Combs, 24, was traveling west on Ga. 53 when officials say he left the roadway and struck an embankment.

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the wreck.

Troopers have not said if they believe speed, drugs or alcohol were factors in the wreck, but the victim’s blood has been sent to a lab for a toxicology report, said GSP operator Lacey King.

"Results are pending," she said.

Combs was a 2003 Dawson County High School graduate and attended Gainesville State College. He was a native of Forsyth County, but lived most of his life in Dawson County. He was employed as the assistant manager at Calvin Klein.

Survivors include his son, Patrick Brady Combs of Dawsonville; parents, Celia and Greg Ramey of Dawsonville; brothers, Derick Aiken of Cumming, Josh Aiken and Chris Lower, both of Dahlonega, and Gabe Aiken of Dawsonville; and grandparents, Pat Bolton, Doug and Deborah Ramey, all of Cumming.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Greg Foster will officiate.

Interment will follow in Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends after noon today at the funeral home.

Combs’ death is the county’s eighth traffic fatality of 2008.
