Hall County residents now have another option to get their fix of apple fritters and maple bacon doughnuts, now that Danny’s Donuts has opened its third location in South Hall.

When the new shop held its grand opening on Monday, Jan. 28, a continuous flood of people filtered into the building.

“We were supposed to sell breakfast today like our burritos, but we had to shut it down because we didn’t have time,” Andy Nuon, owner of Danny’s Donuts said. “It was so busy.”

People can find the store near the Kroger off of Winder Highway. Though it is in Oakwood, the mailing address is 4037 Winder Highway, Flowery Branch.

In celebration of the third business, Nuon said people will be able to receive two free doughnuts with every purchase of a dozen. This special will continue for two months.

People from Oakwood, Braselton and Flowery Branch came out to the new shop on Monday, eagerly awaiting the fresh picks of the day.

“I love it,” Dan Wages said. “I go to downtown Gainesville to get my doughnuts and I go about every week. This is a lot closer. I like the quality and taste, and the staff is always friendly.”

Angela Morris, who visited the Oakwood location on Monday, said she had kept her eye on the Oakwood location for a while. Her go-to doughnut includes the apple fritter, which she recommends heating for eight seconds to reach perfection.

The new location's menu will remain the same as at the other stores.

Nuon said the process of opening Danny’s Donuts in Oakwood began in December 2017. He said he chose the location for its proximity to Kroger and the high traffic Winder Highway brings.

Compared to the other two Gainesville stores, the Danny’s Donuts in Oakwood is the smallest, reaching 1,000 square feet.

The first Danny’s Donuts opened in September 2016, followed by the second in February 2018.

“To me, I don’t believe that I’m on my third already since 2016,” Nuon said.

Run Nuon, manager of Danny’s Donuts and brother of the owner, said a fourth location may soon be on the horizon for the business. For now, he said they will see how well the third location fares.
