Celia Savage of Cornelia, who pleaded guilty in July to federal firearms charges, was arrested Saturday in connection with a traffic accident in Gainesville, authorities said.
Savage struck a parked car at Summit Place Apartments off Limestone Parkway where she was visiting relatives, said Cpl. Kevin Holbrook, spokesman for the Gainesville Police Department, “and left the scene in a reckless manner.”
Savage returned to the scene and drove onto a sidewalk before again leaving, he said. The owner of the vehicle that was hit followed her and contacted police, who took Savage into custody after issuing citations of leaving the scene of an accident and reckless driving, Holbrook said.
She was taken to the Hall County Jail, where she was later released on bond, Holbrook said.
Savage is awaiting sentencing in federal court on the firearms charges. She was indicted in June 2012 on one count of making two unregistered pipe bombs, one count of possessing two unregistered pipe bombs and one count of being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
