Deanna Pruitt is accustomed to “super nice,” helpful customer service at Hall County’s Gaines Ferry compactor site in Flowery Branch.

But even the Lanier Islands area resident was surprised when she pulled up this week and saw Christmas decorations.

“Who does that?” Pruitt said. “They went the extra mile.”

Employees at the compactor site brought their own decorations to bring Christmas cheer to people coming to dispose of their trash and recycling.

Pruitt went back to the site Wednesday and said “everybody was commenting” on the decorations.
