Wofford students gain unique experiences during Interim 2016
James Higginbotham studied abroad in Italy during Wofford’s Interim program.

A pair of area students studied abroad through Wofford College’s Interim program, and another worked a dental internship.

James Higginbotham, who is from Gainesville, is studying in Italy. Abigail Umberger, who is from Dawsonville, is studying in the United Kingdom.

Pierpont Brown, also from Gainesville, took part in an introduction to dental medicine internship through the program.

Wofford’s Interim is a time for exploration and experiential learning away from the rigors of traditional academic courses for students and faculty alike during the month of January. Students may choose from a variety of on-campus courses, professional internships and research projects, study abroad opportunities or their own independent study project, approved and guided by a faculty adviser from the Spartanburg, S.C., college.

More than 200 students chose to study abroad during Interim 2016.
