Law firm employees raise money, collect food for 50,000 meals

First place overall and for funds collected in the local Georgia Legal Food Frenzy Competition was Whelchel, Dunlap, Jarrard & Walker, LLP.

This year’s Georgia Legal Food Frenzy Competition raised the equivalent of 1.23 million pounds of food by 289 law firms and legal organizations. More than 18,000 employees were represented in the competition to see which company would win the Attorney General’s Cup.

Within Georgia Mountain Food Bank’s five-county service area, 17 teams participated in the competition, collecting 1,063.1 pounds of food and raising $14,756.96.

These teams surpassed the 2016 goal and raised enough to provide more than 50,000 meals to the community. All the proceeds will remain within the food bank’s service area of Hall, Lumpkin, Forsyth, Dawson and Union counties.

First place overall and for funds collected was Whelchel, Dunlap, Jarrard & Walker, LLP. Second place for funds collected was Stewart, Melvin & Frost, Gainesville. First place for food collected was Hall County Juvenile Court. Second place for food collected was Van Sant Law, Cumming. The top sole proprietor was George Brinson, P.C., Gainesville.
