Hall students receive 8 of 15 scholarships awarded from Grady Young Foundation Inc.

The Grady Young Foundation Inc. announced the winners of their 15 available scholarships during the 2016 award ceremonies at participating high schools. Six of the awards were Book Scholarships, which are based on potential academic achievement, financial need and demonstrated individual motivation. Seven Memorial Scholarships were presented in memory of Grady Young, his wife Eloise Mosley Young, their two deceased daughters Irene Young Johnson and Marie Young Johnson, Gaynell B. Young Williams, Marion “Paulette” Lott and Gerald Franklin Kesler Memorial Scholarships. Two Incentive Awards were also announced during the ceremonies.

Indira Islas of Gainesville High School was awarded the G.Y. Memorial scholarship, and Williams Memorial Gabriel of Gainesville High School was awarded the G.B.Y. Williams Memorial scholarship.

The Hall County winners of the Book Scholarships were the following: Katherine Dionne of North Hall High School, Moleik Campbell of Riverside Academy, Lauren Hill of Flowery Branch High School, Lindsay Vaughn of Flowery Branch, Hannah Martin of Gainesville High School and Maxwell Sumner of Gainesville High School.
