Scott Gibbs has been appointed to serve on the Georgia Department of Community Affairs Board, which implements community and economic development, government assistance and affordable housing.
Gov. Nathan Deal appointed Gibbs, who represents District 3 on the Hall County Board of Commissioners, to the state board.
“I look forward to being a part of the great work that this board does as it works to spur private job creation, planning and development, affordable housing solutions and volunteerism throughout the state,” Gibbs said in a news release.
The board is made up of 19 people, 14 of whom represent the state’s congressional districts while five serve at-large.
Gibbs also will serve on the Georgia Housing and Finance Authority, whose programs are administered by DCA.
