Discovering Basics closed after toddler burned
0625daycare3
The Clermont location where Discovering Basics day care operated is set to reopen soon under new ownership. The day care closed after a toddler was burned.
A Clermont day care building, where the owner and some employees are accused in the burning of an 18-month-old toddler, has been purchased and will reopen under a new name. Discovering Basics on Cleveland Highway will soon become Joyland Child Development Center North, a second location for the center already located on Rainey Street in Gainesville. Tina and Stephen McConnell, directors and owners of Joyland, bought the property, which has been closed since June 24.
