Qualifying is set for Aug. 31-Sept. 2 to replace Clermont Town Councilwoman Lynn Adams, who resigned last week.

In its first vote Monday setting the Nov. 3 special election, Clermont Town Council also set the qualifying fee at $43.20.

Interested candidates can file paperwork 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. during each day of qualifying at Town Hall, 109 King St.

The winner’s term will run Nov. 9 through Dec. 31, 2017.

Adams, who was about 18 months into a four-year term on the council, resigned as she and her husband are moving to Florida, Mayor James Nix has said.

The council will take its second and final vote on the matter at its regular meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Clermont Chattahoochee Center, 639 Main St.
