A hard freeze is expected overnight in North Georgia with temperatures dropping into the low 20s by morning in most areas.
Winds will remain light but colder temperatures should lead residents to take precautions for pets and plants susceptible to the cold. In addition, school children catching the bus will need to bundle up before temperatures rise in the mid- to uppper 40s later in the day.
The rest of the weekend looks nice, with temperatures climbing into the high 50s Saturday and the low 60s by Sunday under sunny skies. Overnight lows should hit freezing again Saturday morning before warming on Sunday.
A chance of rain returns by Sunday night into Monday, which could bring a cold, gray day.
