Child hit by car at drugstore in critical but stable condition
2-year-old was flown to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

Gainesville police say a 2-year-old child that was hit by a car in a CVS/pharmacy parking lot Saturday is in critical but stable condition. The child likely darted out from behind a parked vehicle at the pharmacy on Jesse Jewell Parkway before it was struck by another car in the parking lot, said Cpl. Kevin Holbrook of the Gainesville Police Department. The child was flown to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston on Saturday evening, having suffered a collapsed lung and possibly some broken bones.
