Chestatee High School track coach Stacey Merck was struck by a vehicle as she was running with some students Sunday morning. Merck was in Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta Monday awaiting a date for surgery for facial injuries, Principal Suzanne Jarrard said. Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident, which occurred about 7:35 a.m. near the intersection of Chestatee Road and Lullwater Trail.
