Lula city officials are inviting the public to help them thank a civic group that is donating the train depot property to the city.
City leaders announced a special called meeting for 4 p.m. Friday to mark the transfer of ownership of the depot facilities to the city from the Lula Area Betterment Association. The ceremony will take place at the train depot, 59 Wall St.
City Manager Dennis Bergin issued the invitation.
“We encourage public attendance as the city expresses their appreciation in the exchange of ownership of the Lula Depot which has been under the guidance and ownership of (LABA) for over 40 years, serving the city through community programs and events,” he said in a statement.
