Cancer study needs local volunteers
'Champions' to encourage others to get involved

The American Cancer Society is seeking “champions” in the Gainesville area who are interested in participating and helping spread the word about an upcoming Cancer Prevention Study-3, a historic nationwide study designed to help researchers better understand the genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors that cause or prevent cancer. Lori Kopesky has a special place in her heart for cancer research as she is a caregiver to her father Wayne Lovett, who was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2010.
Every generation wants to improve the lives of the next, but what if you could save the lives of future generations right now? The American Cancer Society, in partnership with Northeast Georgia Medical Center, is offering the community a chance to take a proactive role in cancer prevention.
