McLaughlin selected new CEO of Avita in Flowery Branch
Cynthia McLaughlin has been appointed CEO of Avita Community Partners in Flowery Branch.
"We are very fortunate to have a candidate of Cindy's caliber to assume the CEO position," said Cheryl Barnet, former interim CEO and human resources director. "We are confident she will continue the excellent leadership we are accustomed to while offering a fresh perspective."
McLaughlin comes to Avita from Johnstown, Penn., where she most recently served as the chief executive officer for Behavioral Health of Cambria County. She has 30 years of experience in behavioral health and developmental disabilities.
McLaughlin is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she received a bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation and a master's degree in business administration. She is a resident of Braselton.
Avita Community Partners was formed by the 1993 Georgia State legislature to serve persons experiencing the disabling effects of mental illness, developmental disabilities and addictive diseases. Fresenius Medical Care earns state honors among dialysis clinics
Fresenius Medical Care Gainesville, a dialysis facility at 18456 Thompson Bridge Road Suite 101 in Gainesville, recently was among 13 in Georgia named a Center of Excellence for exceptional patient and quality care.
The annual awards recognize the facilities that perform the best, based on multiple objective measures of dialysis clinical quality.
Gainesville chiropractors chosen district officers for state association
Two area doctors of chiropractic have been elected officers of the Georgia Chiropractic Association's District 7.
Dr. David Krystal Tomlin of Watkins Chiropractic in Gainesville was elected director and will serve as District 7 representative on the GCA's state board of directors. Dr. Lisa Richter of KLS Chiropractic in Gainesville was elected president and will preside over district meetings, providing general direction for the chiropractic programs within the district.
District 7 serves nearly 150 doctors of chiropractic and their patients in Hall and 12 other Northeast Georgia counties.
